Polar Bear Plunge
My dad is the reason this bar exists. He jumped in the Maumee river on January 1st one year, he told me that it felt like every cell in his body came to life. He also said he would never do that again. I wanted to make a bar of soap that would come close to that feeling, because I am too chicken to jump into an icy river. I used spearmint, eucalyptus and peppermint along with menthol and though it falls short of the goal it is a wonderful bar. Thanks dad.

Jewelweed 2 ounce bar for $2.25
Jewelweed is a plant that is native to this area, and grows wild in my yard. It has been used for centuries by herbalists and Native Americans as a remedy for poison ivy. When using this soap for poison ivy or insect bites it is best to wet it and make a paste that is left on the affected area, then rinse it off and put a fresh batch on everytime it starts to itch again.
